Prior to being financially wise and knowledgeable, the actress opened up with her trial and error relationship with credit cards. At the age of 18, Metz tells CNBC that she had bought $200 worth of perfume and ended up having $2,300 interest.

Breaking the Stigma

The actress feels that opening up about money often belongs up to a realm of taboo, particularly with society’s stigma and judgement surrounding this issue. Chrissy hopes that conversations regarding this subject can not only become more normalized but also one that evolves in the long run.

In her interview with Bustle, the actress states that people believe that their identity and sense of self-worth is often tied to their bank accounts as well as their roles in society, particularly women who have been relegated to the background. Talking with other individuals about your budget and limits, such as friends and family, is a good place to start, says the actress.
