The New City Commercial Center partnered with Metrobank Card Corp. (MCC) to launch the island’s first-ever co-branded credit card. The new offering from the bank is called the NCCC credit card, which is powered by Mastercard.
According to the Mindanao Times, the NCCC credit card provides users with more accessible and convenient payment options. Apart from this, cardholders will also gain access to a slew of exclusive discounts and promos.
While the newly rolled out offering is made in partnership with the Davao-grown retail and shopping mall operator, cardholders may also use their Mastercard for other Metrobank partner merchants. These include online booking and bills payment facilities. Alongside this, users will also be given one point for every P20 spent using the new bank offering.
By the end of 2020, the chief information officer of the New City Commercial Center subsidiary, LTS Pinnacle Holdings, Inc. Joseph G. Uy said in an interview with Business World Online that the company intends to add in more 50,000 customers to their NCCC Mastercard program. These loyal customers would reportedly come from the current lineup of 275,000 NCCC Rewards cardholders.
Francis Ramon Tioseco, credit card marketing head at MCC, said “we partnered with NCCC because we feel like Davao will be a sector of growth not only in terms of retail, especially that the entire region as well continues to grow that is why credit card continues to become a very important tool for consumer[s].”
Through its new offering, Tioseco hopes to be able to cater to more individuals and partners in the whole of Mindanao.
With the Philippine government looking to implement the National ID system for the country, the MCC believes that it could serve as a key driver in expanding business and operations, particularly to underserved areas and communities, reports Business World Online. However, the company needs to further research the feasibility of the intended project.
