Kylie Cosmetics
The defining moment of Kylie’s monumental ascent to the top can be attributed to her Kylie Cosmetics line. According to Forbes, the lip kit mogul has garnered at least $900 million in the past three years, with her company only launching in 2015. Her exclusive rights and partnership with Ulta launched her products across 50 states. In the past year, the magazine reports that the businesswoman’s venture has crept up to 9% to around $360 million.
Critics and Detractors Speak Up
The word ‘self-made’ largely intrigued thousands of people who were able to read the Forbes list. Coming from a wealthy and popular family, Kylie Jenner does not fit the description of a woman who has made it all by herself. Dictionary.com provided shade over the mogul’s rise to fame, is being quoted stating, “Haven’t we gone over this? Self-made: Having succeeded in life unaided.”
Based on a Yahoo Finance report, the Forbes method for determining the facts and figures have been a little faulty. With the company being private, little to no verification and information can be provided to the public.
Despite the scrutiny that Forbes is facing, the company remains steadfast with its decision that Kylie Jenner deserves the spot, with the lip kit diva’s assets being valued at $1.02 billion, Yahoo reports.
